About Fish Oil Score

Fish Oil Score is an independent comparison tool with one job: to publish the number that “best fish oil” articles leave out — what a gram of real, lab-measured EPA+DHA actually costs in each product — and to link the certificate every figure came from, so you never have to take our word for it.

We are not a laboratory and not a brand. We aggregate and rank data that certifying bodies already publish, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any manufacturer or certifier named on this site.

Editorial standards

These are the rules the site is built to, and they are enforced in code rather than left to good intentions:

• Every number is sourced or absent. A figure is either read from a published certificate or report and linked to it, or the cell says so. We never estimate a value to complete a row, and a product missing a price, a serving count or a measured value is excluded from the ranking rather than guessed into it.
• The measured value beats the label. Where a laboratory result exists we rank on it, not on the claim printed on the box.
• Independent testing and self-testing are never mixed. A retailer grading its own house brand is real evidence and a different kind of evidence, so it sits in its own section and is never ranked against an independent certifier. Collapsing the two is the most common way a comparison page misleads, and we will not do it to make a table look fuller.
• The evidence has to describe the exact product. A certificate names a package size and a serving size. If those do not match the item on sale, the certificate does not cover it, and we say so — even when the product is popular and saying so costs us the click. • No health claims. We restate published laboratory figures with attribution. We do not say any product is beneficial, and nothing here is medical or nutritional advice.
• Rankings are never for sale. Every verdict is produced from published data before any buy link is attached. No brand can pay for a position, and none has ever asked.

How the site makes money

Some product links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Corrections

Prices drift, brands reformulate, and certificates expire. If a number here is stale or wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will check it against the source and fix it. Every row links its source, and where we disagree with the source, the source wins.
