The best third-party-tested collagen peptides, by NSF listing

Last reviewed 2026-10-13. Every certification record and Amazon listing below was read on that date, and each links its source. No price is shown.

3 collagen peptide powders sold as an exact Amazon listing are on the NSF Certified for Sport list, matched tub by tub: BUBS Naturals Collagen Peptides, unflavored, Momentous Collagen Peptides with Fortigel and vitamin C, unflavored and Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, unflavored. NSF's annual testing of a listed product covers heavy metals and label content, and production lots are tested for banned substances. The listings publish no heavy-metal figures. All 2,570 NSF listings were read on Oct 13, 2026; 54 of them, from 21 brands, have “collagen” in the name.

How a product gets on this page

  1. An NSF Certified for Sport listing for the collagen powder, read on the NSF site.
  2. An exact Amazon listing that matches the listing's brand, form, flavor and a package size it names.
  3. A US buy box sold by the brand or Amazon.com and shipped by Amazon, read on the build day.

The order is alphabetical by brand. Every product here met the same evidence bar; the order says nothing about quality, purity or price, and this page says nothing about what collagen does.

What NSF Certified for Sport tests, and what the listing does not publish

NSF's certification process page lists annual laboratory testing of the finished product: label content verification, and contaminants, named as microbiological and heavy metals. A separate step tests production lots for 290 substances banned in sport, and the making site is audited. NSF's statement of what the mark means says it verifies that products do not contain unsafe levels of contaminants, prohibited substances or masking agents, and that the label matches the contents (both pages read Oct 13, 2026).

The listing is a pass record, not a lab report. An NSF listing gives the lots and package sizes it covers and the serving facts. It gives no lead, cadmium, arsenic or mercury figure. NSF's annual testing of the listed product covers heavy metals; the lot-by-lot testing NSF describes is for banned substances. NSF does not say that each lot or each tub is tested for heavy metals, and no public number exists to compare one listed product with another.

Not on the NSF list

Garden of Life Grass Fed Collagen Peptides has no NSF Certified for Sport listing: is Garden of Life collagen third-party tested? Not being on one list is not a finding that a product is untested. It means that no public NSF record exists to read.
